School Policies and Procedures


We will share campus news and information with students through our school wide bulletin, that is read daily over the public address system.  We also share news and information through our school Facebook page, website and Parent Link system.

Visiting Campus

All visitors to the school, during school hours, or before and after school, must check in at the office, sign in and obtain a visitor’s ID. Classroom visits should be pre-arranged with the teacher with at least a 24-hour notice.


In order to maintain the least amount of disruption to our learning environment, and for the safety of all students and school personnel, please limit all deliveries to the school office to educational or academic material only. Dropping off of lunch or money for lunch, is, of course, acceptable. Students may not order any food to be delivered during lunch from any off campus eatery or restaurant.

Locker Policy

The use of hall lockers at Willis Jepson is a privilege.  Locker applications will be available after the first progress report.  Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA, appropriate behavior, and have zero tardies in order to apply for a locker. You must provide your own lock for your assigned locker.  WJMS recommends keyed alike locks for your hallway and PE lockers.  DOUBLE CHECK YOUR LOCKER IS LOCKED BEFORE LEAVING.  DO NOT SHARE YOUR LOCKER unless you are assigned to share a locker. Use only your assigned locker. If you place a lock on any locker other than your assigned locker, it will be cut off.  REMEMBER, WJMS is NOT financially responsible for items lost, misplaced, or stolen from your locker.

Bicycle, Skateboards, and Scooters

All bicyclists must walk their equipment while on campus. This includes the blacktop areas and the front of the school. Bicycles must be locked securely in the bike racks provided. Skateboards and scooters must have the capability of being locked up in the bike rack otherwise they are not allowed on campus for safety and storage reasons. WJMS staff is not responsible for storing any transportation devices.


Textbooks will be issued to each student at the beginning of the school year and must be returned in the same condition at the end of the year or when the student withdraws from Willis Jepson Middle School. Students who lose or damage their textbook(s) may have to pay the full cost of the replacement book(s).


Students are expected to have their planner books with them in each class every day. A planner book is given to each student free of charge at the beginning of the school year, or upon enrollment at Willis Jepson Middle School. Should a student lose their original planner book, he or she may purchase a replacement copy from the counseling office if there are any available for sale. Teachers expect students to record daily assignments in this planner book in order to stay organized for the year. Parents should review planner books daily.
